Many are of the opinion that there is not much about sex mentioned in Ayurveda. Like how Ayurveda has given due importance by listing out ways to keep one’s physical and mental health, it has also discussed Sex or Abramacharya. Sex is considered as one of the aspects of life which help us maintain health along with our regular diet and sleep.
But what does ayurveda say about sex ? Here are the crucial points about dos and don’t of sex as per ancient Ayurveda:
1. Chose the right timing: As per Ayurveda, the right time to have sex is two hours after a meal. Also, the ideal time frame for sex as per the ancient science is to have it between 10 pm and 11 pm. The reason is that between this particular time frame the stamina and passion for sex is at peak. The best time for sex is on a full moon day after 10 pm.
2. Moderation and frequency: Too much of anything is not good for health. This rule applies to sex too. Ayurveda says that when we indulge in sex out vital energy called as Ojas gets discharged during orgasm. Ojas is also responsible for our immune powers. So those who do not waste their Ojas often are said to have high immune power. So moderation is the key. Strike the right balance and intensity.
3. Seasonal changes: Every changing season has its impact on our internal body too. Ayurveda says that one can indulge in sex almost every day during winter. In spring and autumn seasons, our stamina is moderate and it is advised to have sex once in three days. During rainy and summer seasons, our strength touches its lowest. So it is advised to have sex once in 10 or 15 days. Having more sex during the rainy and summer seasons will make you weak and reduce your immunity power.
